

Name for the Irish business

Irish students were trying to decide on a name for their business and came up with the word ‘Polities’ which means states, communities, institutions. As it is an acronym of the three countries Ireland (IE) Italy (IT) Poland(POL) it represents all partners involved and the main goal of the project.

New skills and knowledge teachers got during teacher training in Kells, Ireland
Teachers from Ireland, Italy and Poland met in Kells and got trained on topics important to the project i.e. Web & App Design IT issues, the Irish eTwinning Project, Methodologies and Movie Making & Animation. They also visited Ireland’s most successful global brand i.e. Guinness Storehouse where they studied their marketing model and another day they visited a local enterprise called the Courtyard.

Parents involvement in the project and their willingness to house foreign students during the exchange
Parents night was organised to get parents involved in the project and to show them their children work. Parents were given details of dates of the Erasmus+ exchanges . The students from the eTwinning project made a presentation of their work. There was a discussion about the possibility of housing foreign students and possible benefits of it. Irish parents are willing to house foreign students, and so can the teachers.

The Handmade Soap Company In Ireland Insight into operations of a real company

Irish students contacted the handmade soap company and made appointment for visit. On 11th April 2016 they visited the company and got insight into its activity.
IT Training for Irish Students
In February 2016 Irish students learned how to design a webpage, blog and app. They set up accounting software, apps and they registered with Appshed.

Establishing business contacts with partners and suppliers in Ireland

Irish students are willing to setup an enterprise which will export hampers containing Irish made products to other partner schools. Therefore they went to the Kells Farmers Market where they spoke to suppliers of soap and candles with a view to including their products in students’ own hampers as these products are small and non-perishable. The suppliers will support the students and hopefully will allow them come and visit their companies to see their production process.
Sales Documents Exchanged in Italy

Students from each school Sold products to both of their partner schools. They exchanged Letters of Inquiry, Purchase Orders, Sales Invoices Goods Received Notes Delivery Notes Sales Order and Receipts. Except for the Letter of Inquiry, all documents from Ireland were generated using Sage.

Growing communication skills
Irish students prepared and a scavenger hunt that took place in Kells during the exchange. Its aim was to familiarize Italian and Polish students with the city of Kells and also to make students get to know each other.
